Visited by the Spanish friars during the early conquest

Bannering its shoe, cigarette, gun and food industries.

It got its name from the legendary "marikit na" fairy

which means a beautiful, mystical and generous lady

Truly beauty is the main essence in the environment

Reflecting the deeds of men and women full of contentment.

The leadership of mayors BF and MCF greatly spells the different

in this once quiet and underdeveloped town seemed sleeping

accordingly, people claim Marikina has been placed in the map

in the stiff race of cityhood and prominence to the top.

Now, Marikina City is not only known for its shoe industry

it steadily metamorphoses like little Singapore, into a complex city

its people vigorously pursue to the attainment of their cherished dreams

in promoting responsive, productive, yet culturally-rich citizens.

with a strong political will to succeed in their stewardship.

We, the Marikineans, in one voice, must tell the world that we can

continually improve this city and eventually our country to an acclaimed stand
